Portland Roads

Portland Roads is all palm trees, flowers and Lesser Frigatebird. Not to forget the Olive-backed Sunbirds, Spectacled Monarchs and Varied Trillers, and that’s just the view from the verandah of the Portland House, our accommodation during this tropical adventure.

Cool breezes waft from the shores edge but still you venture deeper into rainforest to see Magnificent Riflebird, Palm Cockatoo, Buff-breasted Paradise Kingfisher, Rose-crowned Fruit-Dove and Lovely Fairy-wrens.
Fawn-breasted Bowerbird, Northern Scrub-Robin and White-streaked Honeyeater are all quite possible and we’ll be trying our best for an early Red-bellied Pitta.
